Any time you embark on something new it can be quite scary.  I've felt scared the first time I tried scuba diving, the first time I tried skydiving, the first time I went to middle school, my first date with Madina, and well to be honest writing this first blog post.
I am starting a company of my own of course in the pursuit of making some more money.  But more than that, I hope to learn about owning a business.  I don't have an MBA, but the lessons I learn from this venture will be more valuable than the time spent in a university.  That's not to say I don't believe in school or Universities, I just don't feel like it's the right path for me currently.
I've learned a lot through the years of making videos on my own since high school.  I never went to school for it, but I know a lot more than I did all those years ago.  I've also learned a lot in a short amount of time selling things on eBay.  It started out as a way for me to get rid of old things I never used around the house, while also getting rid of moving boxes we had stacked up in our new house.  Then I realized that I could actually make some pretty good side money doing that on a part time basis, so I decided to continue it.
I was inspired to start my own company from many of my friends who are entrepreneurs and been successful.  They have given me some great advice and I hope to share my knowledge with them too.  Madina and I moved to Minneapolis/West Bloomington, Minnesota this year and found out our neighbors also owned their own company.  So they became a great inspiration as well.
As I said at the beginning of this post, embarking on something new can be quite scary but it can also be very rewarding.  I have no doubt Almost Midas Productions will be a very rewarding experience for myself and I also have no doubt it will be rewarding for future clients.  Here's to a great New Year and a fantastic new business.
